Daily worship at Synod

walkwithcourage

Well, it’s over. Nine worship spots over three days at the annual synod meeting…

The brief, six months ago, was to offer something “alternative”. The promise, when I said yes, was that I had a blank sheet of paper to work with. The reality, of course, was that the blank paper was written all over with invisible ink…

There were 400 people, seated around tables, in a great cavernous university hall. We couldn’t move them (time restrictions), couldn’t have extra equipment at the front, couldn’t bring in large numbers of musicians, and had to include hymns, as well as leave space (physically and metahorically) in the morning worship for Bible studies…
It was such hard work, in such unexpected ways, but we got there.
I’ll post some of the liturgy, and the images and animations that are copyright free, onto this site over the next few days.
