imagination and mona : the october happening

I’d let the idea of a leadership and imagination week based at Mona in Hobart go by the wayside, but i’ve decided i should regather it and push on.

It’s going to be a very low-key, non-directional space. Three days: Tuesday 16th to Thursday 18th. We’ll work around a theme [imagination, i think], and invite people to bring an idea or concept to work on… There’ll be lots of time for talking, thinking, imagining, eating, drinking, being inspired and over-awed.

Let me know if you’re interested and i’ll make it happen…

Would love to be there, sounds fantastic-not sure if I’ll be able to, but can you put me on a ‘be there if I possibly can’ list?

This sounds great! I’m keen if my finances allow!

Driving home last night on ABC heard about the fact that MONA is funded by a gambling syndicate in trouble with the tax folk. Began wondering if there needs to be an “ethical tourism” policy applied to art gallery visits!

    I don’t know that it’s a fact yet Steve… there’s currently a dispute re taxes.

But yes, Mona is owned and run by David Walsh who made millions through gambling, and is now losing millions through Mona!

and we have an ethical tourism project that’s based just outside my office. I’ll ask them the question!
