Thanks so much for this Cheryl, i was sad i couldnt make Saturday night but used alot of your words on Sunday morning at Footscray Baptist. Traditional service so just used a bit of fabric up the front with pile of ashes and water to drink. Gave everyone a charcoal stick as they arrived and ppl wrote prayers. Not a dry eye in the house. Very moving. Thanks so much for putting this up early! Looks like we will be doing something in Long Gully, Bendigo where the fires were this week along similar lines. You were born for this….much grace…
hey marcus, i’m writing new stuff to use with people who have lived through the fires, sort of working through ash wednesday and lent – it might be more suitable… hopefully i’ll have it done by the end of the week.
