don’t click!

it’s the day after Australia Day… most of melbourne is still sleeping off the heat, and in true australian style, taking today off as well to make a long, long weekend. i’m in at the office…

so i’ve been procrastinating, before starting a difficult task, by idly strolling through the internet. i saw this link from adam cleaveland for a click-free website…

it’s a very cool concept… but the most interesting thing was that they track the first twenty seconds of the mouse movements of the previous twenty visitors to the site. it was a really interesting insight into how people interact with a new concept. (to see the recorded ‘trackings’, go to ‘explore’ and then ‘autopilot’… just don’t click!)

when i went into the website for the first time, i went straight to ‘explore’. i’m not sure why i was so surprised, when i looked at other peoples’ histories, to see how many people went straight to ‘understand’…
