home… the laundry

I bought out the $1 bargain bin at the op shop around the corner… I’ll donate them back again later this week…

dirty washing

Dirty washing.

We’ve all got it.

Stuff we’ve done (or not done),
thoughts we’ve had
words we’ve said
making everything muddy and grotty.

Sometimes it feels like we’re walking through life
all dressed up in our dirtiest clothes.

Take some of the clothing from the dirty clothes basket.
Write or draw on it the things that have muddied up your life

and when you’re ready,
wash it in the water.

Until it’s clean.

Which is just what God does with our lives.

And when it’s clean,
hang it out
and let the breath of God, which whispers words of grace and forgiveness, dry it, ready to wear again…
