learning group part 2

“In times of change the learners will inherit the earth while the knowers will find themselves beautifully equipped to deal with a world that no longer exists.”

a surprising number of people have contacted me about the alt worship learning group. i’ve left the details hanging a little, just waiting on a couple of things to become clear. i’ll be contacting those who are interested with the promised information, hopefully this afternoon. what’s become apparent, though, is that there are quite a few people who are wanting a learning environment, regardless of what it is that’s being learnt within it! [i understand that, i’m of a similar persuasion]. they’re interested in this, not specifically for the alt worship, but because it’s about learning and exploring a different path or shape of faith.

the group of women i’ve talked about on this blog before are about to begin using the dvd series ‘Saving Jesus’… i just wanted to offer this blog as a way for other people who might want to begin some kind of learning group that explores post-christian spirituality, for example, or post-modern theology / philosophy, or whatever, to connect with each other.

i already have a few names of people who are interested – particularly in the post-christian spirituality conversations. email or leave your name in the comments if you’d like to add to them.

[p.s. i made a commitment to my manager a few months ago that this year i’d look for learning opportunities that would stretch my creativity, rather than be purely academic achievements… i’ve been wanting to learn to write, so on the encouragement of a friend who’s a real live poet, i’ve joined a poetry workshop group. we take a dozen copies of a poem, people read it, rip it apart, and you go home a better person and poet. not sure it’s made any difference yet, but i’ve only been the once so far…]

  1. Hi Cheryl,
How’s the learning group planning going? As mentioned at the Easter sacred space, I’m still keen. I just noticed your comments about post-christian spirituality, which is basically what my blog is about, and i’d like to bring this into a group conversation……so here i am as one of the ‘interested’.

See you soon at the next Alibi catchup.
