The Sophia Network has relaunched its website. Jenny Baker has done amazing stuff with this network. It’s UK based [but not exclusive], and exists to connect women in youth work and ministry to access training, develop skills and share wisdom.
We focus our energy in four areas: partnership, relationships, voice and training. If you are a woman in youth work or ministry, come and share the journey with us. Membership is free.
The Sophia Network is for all female youth and children’s workers, volunteer and employed, full time, part time or spare time. You are also very welcome to join if you are a woman in church leadership or other form of ministry and think the network may be useful to you.
I’ve just spent the last half hour going through the site. I really love that it’s not just women talking about what it’s like for them to fit into a man’s world [letting their agenda always be defined by gender] – it’s women writing about the world, the church and their ministry, in all its breadth and depth. It’s great stuff.
And if you ever wonder why that matters, keep this article on hand…
